Myths and Realities of Social Media


On Wednesday 6 April, under the XIII Congress of Communication / Redvolución in Mayab Anahuac University, Sergio Villalobos [ Regional Group Director of Ogilvy Mexico ] gave a lecture, "Myths and Realities of Social Media" , which have taken up the points. Note:


SOCIAL MEDIA IS THIS

· The 50% of Internet users check your Face Book before your e-mail

· In Mexico, connect to the Internet is cheaper than cheaper coffee from Starbucks ($ 12 vs. $ 23 )

· The Social Media is like teenage sex : Everyone will want to enter, but when I know realize that is very different from what thought

· Why should I care?
- For 2 / 3 parts of the world population global site visit
- Because 9 out of 10 people rely more on personal recommendation that so marks tell
- Because time spent on social networks grows 3 times faster than Internet access

· The 2 nd largest search engine of Mexico is You Tube, and there are 21.9 million Mexican online in social networks

· In Advertising Digital, 100 people receiving a message, only 10% is reported. It is, then, to find that 10%

· What you learn in Face Book:

- Having an audience is a privilege not a right
- Mix content (texts, pictures, advice on products / services, promotions)

- Look at the words you're using

- Help if you can
- always appreciated people
- always gives credit to whoever deserves
- Do not be conceited . The keyword is humility
- Use good spelling and grammar

· Companies are cautious due to ignorance of Social Media. Only spent about 5% of its budget

· Brands such as Burger King, El Palacio de Hierro, Coca-Cola, Ford and Boeing have obtained good results their campaigns
