A Zoveck are known as the alchemists of the image. What has been the secret to developing a style with such power of attraction? Our secret is perhaps no surprise stop in our area, take flavor to everything around us: the trips to the market, ride the subway, in the car, and so on. There are always around us any ingredients that can feed our compositions. The non-stop passionate about what we do and remove the viscera in each piece is something that nourishes our daily work.
Where does the concept of the study? decided to join forces in 2004 when, tired of working for a boss, we decided to start their own. The idea of \u200b\u200bthe name comes from the images we remember from a famous Mexican named Professor escapist Zoveck. And as a kind of homage, and tilt we have the magic and the surreal, created what is now the study.
What's happening in Mexico at graphic design? Personally believe that as in every place, there are major proposals as some not so memorable, but in recent years the level of competition has grown for better or for worse, so the Mexican designer's work starts traversing borders. We believe it is because we have much to tell and a great culture that makes us as designers build memorable Mexican style.
What benefits have been obtained from digital media? Mucha, because due to our web site have captured the attention of potential customers, and found a very effective tool to publicize our work on a massive scale and also have direct contact with those who wish learn more about us and know what we do.
Do you remember with particular fondness some of their campaigns? One that has earned us high regard is the proposed Central Films one of our first projects, we required many graphic pieces. We liked the fact that customers look to us to see one of our promotional - "The Saint" - and was thrilled to get an image similar to his production, so we enjoy much more creative freedom and confidence. We really liked the result, and that this freedom allowed us excited and passionate about the whole process of creation. In this way, we launched our proposals without limitation and the client became our ally.
When customers that kill creativity, how to defend them? try to do our accomplice, not trying to impose our ideas on it, since this does not work, but explaining the importance of original design and risky and the great benefits you get when you take into account our recommendation.
If they had a formula to define Zoveck, what would it be? Zoveck magic, surrealism and joy.
What we say about the collage? (References, sources of inspiration, source materials) The collage for us is a very friendly, which allows us to express ideas and create images without knowing how to draw. To make a little history, though it is considered that it was Picasso invented the collage in 1912 with his painting Still Life with Chair grid is under discussion whether it was the first Picasso or Georges Braque. The first photographs had stuck to his drawings as early as 1899, and in the spring of 1912 incorporated rubber in a grid to paint above. But the second place late summer of that year the first papiers colles to incorporate in its work cut commercial wallpaper that imitated wood, one of which is exemplified TĂȘte de femme (1912). At that time, the two artists had settled in Sorgues, while Picasso was traveling in Paris when Braque bought the paper and made these works. On his return, Picasso became fascinated with the discovery of his friend and the two set out to introduce his paintings newspaper clippings, magazines, labels, liquor or cigarettes, and colored papers. Juan Gris quickly understood the power of discovery and used it well.
Tell us about your collaborations with other designers and the fact that the disciplines are now mixing. We worked some projects with illustrators who admire a lot and when you consider that your talent can get to potentiate the results of this project. One example is the project of The Sopranos, a campaign we did with Warner Channel and in which the illustration of the portrait of Tony Soprano ran by Jose Quintero. The result was impressive as anyone as he could portray so well the essence of this character. Another project worked in this way is to Telcel, which collaborated in the illustration Jorge Alderete, 1000Changos, Collective Plastilina and Cesar Evangelista. The results were great, and that the project had a very strong personality, equipped largely by these illustrators.
Any comments for the readers of Belgian Rabbit? We'd love to tell you to stop no passion for what they do, is the only way to really enjoy your work. Also, do not forget to feed the mind and spirit. Only in this way may say something and its proposals will have a lot of heart.
